England manager Gareth Southgate has said he is likely to be sacked if the Three Lions have a disastrous World Cup.

England have had a disastrous run ever since they lost on penalties to Italy at Wembley at the Euro 2020 tournament.

They lost over the weekend to the Azurri sealed their relegation from UEFA Nations League A to B. Quizzed about his future, Southgate said that it all depends on what happens at the world cup.

He said, “Ultimately, I will be judged on what happens at the World Cup.

“Contracts are irrelevant as managers can have three, four or five-year deals but you accept that if results are not good enough, it is time to go your separate ways.

“Why would I be any different? I am not arrogant enough to think my contract is going to protect me in any way.”

England are at the bottom of their group in the UEFA Nations League A group 3 having secured just two points in their last five matches.

Recall that KOKO TV earlier reported that the Southgate didn’t call on both Sancho and Rashford for the pre-world cup games later this year.
